Waiting

“Though it tarry, wait for it.”

—Habakkuk 2:3

The Difficulty of Waiting

Waiting is one of the hardest things to do. When we want something accomplished, we often expect it immediately, even though every meaningful outcome takes time.

Trusting God’s Timing

The Lord reminds us that there are times when we must wait. Our prayers are always heard, but God may need to set many things in motion to bring about the outcome that is best for us. His timing is perfect, even when we do not understand the delay.

In a world of instant gratification, we can slow down and remember that the most important answers often take time. This does not mean God has failed to hear us. It may mean He is changing circumstances, preparing people, and arranging every detail for the right outcome.

When an answer comes after a long season of prayer, it can feel even more meaningful. We can look back and recognize that, although we were waiting, God was working all along to bring about the perfect answer to our prayer.

Prayer

Lord, teach me to wait with expectation, knowing that You hear every prayer and are working toward a solution in Your perfect timing and way. Help me trust that Your answer will not disappoint.

Beware, lest you forget God's purpose for your life.
